OPENPORT 2007 brought together artists from a diverse set of contemporary practices for an international festival featuring live acts and real-time transmissions from practitioners within performance, sound, and the language arts. The 2007 festival presented thirty-three artists, both established and emerging, in a series that took place over four weekends in February 2007 at Links Hall, an intimate performance space in Chicago. In addition to 12 nights of live performance, OPENPORT included a symposium of leading theorists, artists and writers held at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and an Panel discussion at the Chicago Cultural Center as well lectures at the Flaxman Library at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
